How to change pattern and start with a snare
In this lesson and being not a drummer, it's amazing how versatile professional drummers are. What I meant with this is that we all got our dominant hand and foot, and we often starts doing things using them. So, in relation to drumming if you are right handed, then there's a good chance that you will start playing with the kick and your hi-hat. Let's just say it's time you play the drums and jam along you will always start the drum pattern with the bass or the kick. So in order to break the chain and train yourself to do something, why not try it with the snare instead. That's why in this lesson we call it the inverted 8th beat or the opposite of it. Instead of doing the kick first, you'll start with the snare. Here's the video that will explain this further about the basics on drumming.
Reminder: Always try and play the pattern in various tempo from slow to fast and also from smooth to loud. Just have fun and play around with the drumkit. Maintain your tempo as much as possible.
